Digital Pirates Winning Battle With Studios

Hi everyone,

We've come across this article recently that describes how piracy is causing a major dent in Hollywood's revenue stream:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/05/business/media/05piracy.html?_r=2&ref=business

"The Motion Picture Association of America says that illegal downloads and streams are now responsible for about 40 percent of the revenue the industry loses annually as a result of piracy."

"“It is becoming, among some demographics, a very mainstream behaviour,” said Eric Garland, the chief executive of BigChampagne."

"With so much pirated material online, Hollywood is turning to technological solutions. Perhaps most important, media companies are learning from the music industry’s mistakes and trying to avert broader adoption of piracy techniques. The No. 1 lesson: provide the video on the platform that users want it."

At Hyper MP, we've watched this trend developing consistently and exponentially over the past 3 years or so. Therefore, our solution is more viable today (and clearly over the years to come). We certainly do welcome the studios to meet with us to discuss in depth how we can salvage any future losses, demostrate a fully functioning beta version of the software, and turn this problem of theirs into a solid, prosperous business solution.

Regards,
The Hyper MP Development Team.
